Plea for Help via Your Contacts: Food for Cap Haitien

Posted on Feb 7, 2010 by Twilla Haynes

A huge area of concern that is outside the scope of what EHIH can provide is the food supply in Cap Haitien.

EHIH continues to be effective in providing medical care to the earthquake victims as well as assessing the best immediate care for the parentless children, working in conjunction with their guardian. But the current, most urgent need is for food – one that EHIH is not equipped to solve.

Food for the Poor is working next to the EHIH relief team at the gym and doing a great job, but their task is overwhelming. It is estimated that the majority of the Cap Haitien citizens are only eating one meal every other day.

EHIH is asking our supporters to use their contacts in the non-profit community to bring more attention to this urgent need in Cap Haitien. Given our contacts on the ground, we can work through the leaders of organizations such as Food for the Poor, Samaritan’s Purse, Salvation Army, American Red Cross, etc., to solve this urgent need in outlying areas such as Cap Haitien.

Please contact EHIH at 706-367-7302 if you have connections with these or other organizations.
