ETERNAL HOPE IN HAITI INC.

Home for Medically Fragile Children

Hope Haven home was founded to provide a health care home for medically fragile children suffering from the ravages of malnutrition, tuberculosis, congenital heart issues, cerebral palsy, HIV, and other illnesses. The goal of the foundation is to restore each child to the best health possible and provide them a loving, nurturing environment for full growth. Once stable, children are returned to their loving home families as possible. If no families exist, then the children grow up in the care of the Hope family. The home is not structured to adopt out children from Haiti but to grow them like Christ as productive members of their own rich culture, equipping them to be self sufficient, highly contributing members of society as adults. The home is operated by Haitians living with the children to ensure they are fully embedded in their amazing culture.

Health Care

Access to primary care health services in identified communities surrounding Cap Haitian, Haiti. On site health care teams partner with ongoing health care volunteers rotating though community mobile clinics every quarter. This allows for ongoing care with chronic disease management. This work is only possible with the strong relationships with local health care systems, doctors and nurses. Many of the same patients are seen for chronic disease management like hypertension and diabetes every three months. The goal is to support access to care and assist the efforts of the local health care provider communities. All mobile clinical services and medications (for three months at a time) are provided to the patients at no charge as part of the mission of EHIH.

Our vision is to extend the love of God by serving others with a focus on the vulnerable families, fragile children and elderly populations of Cap Haitian, Haiti.

EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS

Responsible for the education of over 140 children and young adults from preschool to college. Our children are matched with learning abilities and interests and offered educational opportunities best suited for their long term goals. We have students in college, local trade schools, apprentice programs and primary and secondary learning settings. We have tutors work with our children on site. Children seen in mobile clinics may also be supported for education in their home communities as a partnership with the foundation. This oftentimes is the one certain meal these children will have on school days.
